  Tapestry

Short stories, poems and essays conceived by 3rd Year students and teachers.

“Tapestry” is the title of a collection of creative writing, poetry and art work. This has been created by Third Years and includes the short story “Escape” written by Ciara Gorman. Last March she received the Sean Dunne Young Writers’ Award for this work.
At an assembly before the summer, all of  Ciara’s year group were invited to be part of a project to produce a work highlighting the enormous enthusiasm and interest generated by creative writing.

The result is a work which brings credit to our students and the hope is that it will encourage the pursuit of creative writing in its various styles.

In keeping with the tradition of supporting worthy causes here in the College, this group has requested that any proceeds will be given to St. Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown from the sale of their work. The local Hospice is in debt to the tune of €15 million and is in need of funds.

Update - May 2010

The 3rd Year Awards Ceremony was held on Monday the 24th of May, 2010 in the Sports Hall. In front of staff, students and invited guests a cheque for €1000 was presented to Fr. Dan Joe, representating St. Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown.
On behalf of all who were involved I would like to say a big thank you for all the support received from students, their families, staff, local organisations and retail outlets in helping to make this project successful.
