| Life in Castleknock
Community College just wouldn't be complete without 'Starsearch',
our annual talent competition. Now in it's 7th year and traditionally
organised by Transition Year students, it has truly become a
highlight in the life of the College and is always a memorable
occasion for everyone who comes to see it.
Starsearch 2006 was a fantastic success at the end of January
and with so many students auditioning, it was difficult to
narrow down the final line-up to just 16 acts.
This year also saw some changes, with an award for Best Overall
Performance on the first night of the show and prizes for
Best Band, Best Dance Act and Best Soloist Performance on
the second night of the show.
Well done to this year's hardworking TY production team, some
of whom also made a very impressive backdrop for the stage.
Congratulations to Sean Fay (1st Year) who won Best Overall
Performance and Eoin McDonagh (LC2) overall winner of Starsearch
2006.
......no doubt our incoming TY students are looking forward
to making sure that Starsearch 2007 is the best show yet!!!

Eoin McDonagh
Starsearch Winner 2006
Starsearch is an annual concert organised by Transition Year
students led by the inspirational Ms. Vickie Stokes who, year
in year out puts a truly phenomenal amount of time and effort
into the project, to such an extent that no one realises just
how much work she does.
All proceeds from this year's show went to worthy charities,
a school in Mozambique which has a connection with C.C.C.
and the Laura Lynn Hospice Foundation.
This was the sixth year of Starsearch and the show was better
than ever. Each of the eighteen acts gave excellent performances,
wowing the 400 strong crowds and leaving the judges with a
difficult decision to make.
