Senior students of Spanish have the opportunity to represent Castleknock Community College in national debating competitions as organised by the Association of Teachers of Spanish of Ireland (ATS). The first round of the Senior Spanish Debating competition took place on Wednesday October 1st in Castleknock College. Students Andriy Babiy, Haley Dixon, Cliodhna Durand, Daniel Ferreira, Cameron Shields and Ronja Vilimkova, mentored by their teacher Ms. Gina Byrne, opposed the motion ‘Todos los colegios deberían ser publicos’ (All schools should be public) and engaged in a lively debate against Rathdowne .

Students found this to be an enjoyable and beneficial experience preparing for their Leaving Certificate Examination.

Round two will take place mid-November.

We wish Ms. Byrne and the students all the best in round 2

¡Buena suerte a todos!
