Congratulations to Mr McCluskey & the U-19 Girls’ Football team on their convincing win over Coolmine last Friday. Well done!

Best of luck to Junior teams representing the College at the Belvedere Mace Debating Competition next Saturday (October 2nd).

Senior Hurling. Commiserations to Senior team & Mentor Mr Ryan on their narrow defeat to Oatlands College. CCC led for most of the match but conceded a last minute goal to give Oatlands the win. Paul Winters (TY) gave an outstanding display scoring 1-10 of 1-12 for CCC. The U-16 team also went down to Colaiste Eanna.  Hopefully their fortunes will change in upcoming fixtures when the U-16s meet St. Declans on Tuesday October 5th & the Seniors take on Scoil Caitriona on Wednesday October 6th.


The Under 14 boys Gaelic Football team were beaten Friday last in a tight encounter with St Benildus College. On a score-line of 3-11 to 2-7, the team battled throughout and it was only in the final minutes that the game ran away from us. Star performers for CCC were Sean Dunning, Liam Campbell, Alex Hannigan and Donal Timoney. There is an opportunity for a quick turn- around in fortunes as the panel face Scoil Aodhain at St Brigid’s Russell Park on Tuesday afternoon (Mr Sutton).


Commiserations to Ms Cotter & U-16/U-19 Boys’ Basketball teams on losses last week. Wishing them the very best in future fixtures.

Mr Antoniotti’s Senior Girls enjoyed an excellent win over Teresian School but the Cadets unfortunately were defeated.


Well done to our eight Junior Debaters who represented the College at the Belvedere Mace last Saturday. For several speakers it was their first experience of competition. The competition attracted entries from over eighty teams. The Final was chaired by Eamon Gilmore & had amongst its adjudicators, Brian Lenihan and David Norris. Wesley College emerged the eventual winners.

Congratulations to Mr Sutton & the U-14 Gaelic Footballers who secured a place in the Dublin  'A' semi final last week with an emphatic 6-9 to 2-8 win over Ard Scoil Ris at St Brigids, Russell Park. There were some excellent performances all over the team especially from David Fraine in defence, Sean Dunning at midfield, and Donal Timoney and Liam Campbell in the forwards. Very best wishes to Mr Sutton & the team in the Dublin Semi –Final which takes place tomorrow Tuesday 9 November at Naomh Olaf's pitches against St Benildus.

Well done to the U18 Gaelic Football team who have had two recent victories, one  over Colaiste Eanna ( 2-14 to 0-6)  and a second on Wednesday last week beating  Tullow ( 4-10 to 1-15) . They now progress to the 1/4 finals in Leinster. Hard luck to same for their defeat to St. Benildus, the current Dublin Champions, on Friday last on a scoreline of 2-14 to 2-9. Best for CCC were Ross Mullins, Graham Hannigan, Sean Clarke and Simon O Brien. ( Mr Nolan & Mr Egan)

  • Swimming- Congratulations to all our swimmers on their superb performance in the Leinster A Schools Senior Competition in Portmarnock on Sunday 16th January
  • Special Congratulations to Niamh Hurley the new 100m Intermediate Butterfly Leinster Champion. Also well done on her 3rd place in the Intermediate Girls 100m Freestyle.
  • Congrats also to Evan McEneaney (Rang Allen) the new 100m Boys Freestyle Leinster Champion and also his brother Jake(Rang Allen) who took second place & Luke Murphy (Rang Foyle) who came third.
  • Evan was also crowned Leinster Champion in the 100m Backstroke & Jake took third place.
  • Well done to Niall Redmond (Rang Kells) on his 5th place in the Senior Boys 100m Backstroke. These swimmers will now go on to represent CCC in the All Ireland A Senior Schools Gala and we wish them the very best (Ms Cobbe).

  • Congratulations to Maurice Collins & the U-18 Girls Soccer Team who defeated St. Peter’s Dunboyne last Thursday. There were goals from Aisling Hoey (3), Jessica Comerford (2), Amy O’Shea & Lisa Buckley. Well done!
  • Congratulations to Mr Egan and the U-16 Gaelic Football team on a superb victory over Colaiste Eoin last week. Well done in particular to Ciaran Millmore who scored a fantastic goal.
  • Hard luck to Mr Nolan and the U-18 Gaelic Football team who were beaten in the Leinster quarter final by a single point late in injury time by Carnew last Wednesday. Best for CCC was Dublin Minor Graham Hannigan.
  • Wednesday 26th January- Orienteering. 50 ( mostly 1st and 2nd Year students) accompanied by Ms Clancy and Anne B. Murphy as well as 4 parents, will travel to Malahide Castle for an Orienteering Event.
  • Golf- Joe Croke and Mr Fleming will travel to Elm Green Golf  Club with 2 parents and approx 52 enthusiastic golfers on Wednesday afternoon. 
    This will hopefully be the start of a number of outings and coaching organised by Joe Pitcher (parent) for our students. Bus departs at 2pm and will return at 4.30pm approx.
  • Cross Country -West Leinsters. A team of 80 runners will depart the school on Thursday at 9.40 and head down to the Phoenix Park. They will be accompanied by Mr Moore and Ms Clancy. 
  • Basketball- Best of luck to Ms Clancy. and Mr Antoniotti who travel to Malahide this Friday with 1st  and 2nd  Year Girls for the second round of the league. 1st yrs had a great first match against Drimnagh last Monday but unfortunately were beaten. 2nd Years had a decisive win.

Congratulations to Mr Collins & the Under 18 Girls Soccer Team who defeated Riversdale CC by 5 goals to 1 on Friday and now advance to the quarter-finals of the Leinster League. The goal scorers were Jessica Comerford (3) and Hannah Hanlon (2).

Congratulations to our students who swam superbly in the All Ireland ‘A’ Schools Senior Championship in Salthill Galway this weekend. Niamh Hurley and Luke Murphy put in exceptional performances in their respective events. Jake McEneaney from Rang Allen came 6th in the closely contested 100m Junior Freestyle and Evan McEneaney came 3rd in the same event. Evan is now the new All Ireland Champion in the Junior Boys, coming 1st in the100m Backstroke Event following an incredible performance.The excellent results achieved reflect the strong commitment of these students to the sport (Ms Cobbe)

Congratulations to Mr Egan & the U-16 Boys’ Gaelic Team on their excellent win over Confey College last week. The team has now qualified for both the Dublin & Leinster Semi-Finals. Well done.
"Basketball Shootathon" for Kolkata Tuesday 15th.
1st and 2nd yrs will take part in a sponsored event this Tuesday. They will try to shoot 10000 baskets in the course of the afternoon. Many students have raised large amounts of money already.
Orienteering
On Wednesday16th a large group of mainly 2nd and 3rd yrs will be taking part in an Orienteering event in St. Annes Park in Raheny. They will depart at 9.00am and return at 2pm approx. They will be accompanied by teachers and volunteer parents.
Cross Country
This Wednesday, Ms Cunningham will accompany our 3 teams and individuals who have qualified for the Leinster Finals in the Schools Cross Country finals in Santry. In all, a total of 25 runners will represent our school in the finals, the largest number we have ever had qualifying. We wish them all the very best!
Basketball
Well done to 1st yr girls who won both their matches last week beating Woodlands Academy from Wicklow on Wednesday and Mercy Coolock on Friday. We wish 1st and 2nd yrs all the best this Friday as they take on Holy Family Newbridge in the second last game of the league. Both teams have only lost a game each and look good to qualify for semi final places.

Commiserations to Mr Egan & the U-16 Gaelic Team on their recent Semi-Final defeat by Ard Scoil Ris  despite putting in a fine performance.

Camogie Success! Congratulations to Ms Sinnott, Anne Barry Murphy and our 1st & 2nd Year Girls Camogie Team who were victorious on Wednesday 2nd March when they defeated Setanta in the final of the Anthony Talbot Memorial Blitz in Russell Park on a score of 4 goals 3 points to no score.  Georgina Duffy, 2nd Year, captained the team of 1st and 2nd Year girls. Congratulations to all involved.

Commiserations to Mr Egan & the U-16 Gaelic team on their defeat last week in the Leinster Semi-Final. Well done on what was a very good campaign during the past few months.

Well done to the College Traditional Group on their excellent performance at last Thursday night’s concert in the Castleknock Hotel to raise funds for BeKind Ireland (Mr Kelly).

Basketball- Commiserations to our First Year Girls who lost to Mercy Convent on Friday in the Dublin Semi-Finals but congratulations to the Second Year Girls who defeated Newbridge also in the Dublin Semi-Finals and who now go on to play Malahide on Wednesday 16th March (11.15am in Inchicore) in the Dublin Final. We wish them and coaches Ms Clancy and Mr Antoniotti the very best.

Football: Congratulations to the Girls U14 Gaelic Football team on two great wins last week beating St Colmcilles Knocklyon 5-10 to 5-8 and Loreto Ballbriggan 5-18 to 3-8. Well done to their mentors, Ms Meehan &Mr McCloskey.

Irish Schools Orienteering Championships: A group of 16 students from mixed years will travel to Donadea Forest Park to compete in this All Ireland Schools Event

Track and Field Athletics
: Next Tuesday12th and Thursday 14th a team of our best athletes will travel to Morton Stadium in Santry to compete in The West Leinster Competition.

Basketball: Congratulations to our 2nd Year Girls basketball team who have qualified for the All Ireland Play-offs .They will travel to Cork on the week-end of May 14th to compete against the other Regional winners and runners-up. We wish Ms Clancy and Mr Antoniotti and the team the best of luck.

Golf: Mr Croke and parent Joe Pitcher are organising a second Golf Outing for our students to Elm Green Golf Course before Easter.

Gaelic Football: Another great win, last Friday, for the Girls Under 14 team who beat Loretto, Foxrock 11-9 to 4-4.  The team now go on to play St Mary's, New Ross in the Semi Final.

CRICKET (Mr Cody)
C.C.C's first match of the season v. St. Mary's in Terenure took place last Monday 9th May. We won the toss and elected to field. St. Mary's batted through their 25 overs, making 159runs for the loss of 6 wickets. In reply C.C.C. batted through our 25 overs, making 54 for8.
Result - the formidable St. Mary's team won by 105 runs.
Analysis- BOWLING: Thomas Anders 3wickets for 17 runs, Michael Fahy 1 for 20 and Ali Yawar 1 for 20. Batting : Thomas Anders 31 not out.
Wednesday 11May- C.C.C's (rain interrupted) first home match at Phoenix Cricket Club v. King's Hospital. King's won the toss and elected to bat. King's did not manage to bat through their 25 overs and were 'all out' for 106 runs. In reply C.C.C. batted through our 25 overs making 50 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.
Result- King's Hospital won by 56 runs.
Analysis- BOWLING: Thomas Anders 3 for 15, Michael Fahy 3 for 24 and Devon Dismore 2 for 12.
BATTING; Michael Fahy top scored with 13 runs.
NOTE; last year C.C.C. lost to this King's Hospital team by 164 runs and did not manage to bowl them out. Progress can be reported!

Maths Competition: Well done to Daniel Ferreira, Rang Oisin, who took part in the Irish Junior Maths Competition on Friday night in Castleknock College. Daniel scored an impressive 122/150!

CRICKET : QUEEN STOPS PLAY!!!
CCC's cricket team had to play their ' home ' fixture against Colaiste Phadraig at North Kildare Cricket Club because Phoenix Cricket Club was ' off limits ' during the Queen's visit.
Captain Thomas Anders won the toss and elected to field. Colaiste Phadraig batting first were all out for 93 runs ( off 20 overs ). In reply, CCC reached 94 for the loss of 6 wickets

( off 23 overs ).

Result : CCC won by 4 wickets.
Analysis : Bowling,Thomas Anders 3 wickets for 5 runs , Ali Yawar 3 for 14, Michael Fahy 2 for 31.

 Batting,Thomas Anders 42 not out, Michael Fahy 18, Ali Yawar 7.
