Contacting Castleknock Community College
From time to time parents may have a need to contact the College to discuss a school related matter. There are a number of ways of making contact with us.
The School Journal
Communications are made through the journal in relation to attendance, punctuality, uniform and behaviour and academic progress.
The Class Tutor
Each class is assigned a class tutor who meets with the class for ten minutes each morning. The tutor will monitor the child’s welfare in relation to attendance, punctuality, uniform and general classroom progress. Most communication with the tutor is conducted through the child’s journal
The Year head
Each year group is assigned a year head who is responsible for welfare of the student body. Year heads may be contacted at the College to discuss matters relating to a child’s social and emotional well being and academic progress within the year group.
The Deputy Principal
There are two Deputy Principals in the College and are available by appointment to meet with parents relating to any matter of concern.
The Principal
The Principal of the College is available by appointment to meet with parents.
The Chaplain
The College Chaplain has responsibility for the pastoral needs of the students and is available by appointment to meet with parents.
The Guidance Department
The Guidance Team offer a full range of interventions and activities which assist pupils to make choices about their lives. These choices are focused in a developmental way on three key areas: personal, educational and career.
The Learning Support Department
The Learning Support Department is responsible for providing an intense intervention programme for those students with special educational needs in order to facilitate their full access within the mainstream system. Parents may contact the Learning Support Department in relation to their child’s learning needs.
The Language Centre
The Language Centre meets the needs of our International Students. Parents wishing to access additional support for their children for whom English is a Second Language may contact the Language Centre.
