National Champions
Congratulations to Deirdre McGuane & Aodhan Peelo who were crowned National Senior Debating Champions at the National Grand Final in UCD. They successfully proposed the motion that people should be allowed to do whatever they wished provided they do not cause direct harm to another person against teams from Rockwell College, Belvedere College, Colaiste Iognaid (Galway) as well as individual speakers from four other schools. The adjudicators’ decision in favour of CCC was unanimous.  Following their victory Deirdre & Aodhan have been invited to represent Ireland at the Four Nation Mace Competition.  The victory was unique for a number of reasons. Aodhan is the only Junior student ever to win the Senior Competition.  He is the only speaker ever to win the Junior & Senior Competition in the same year ( Aodhan and Ciara Gorman won the Junior Championship in early March). CCC has won both Junior & Senior titles this year. >>More
