Second Year Positive Points Initiative: On Tuesday 9th February, we will have a sit down assembly at 9am for all second year students to launch the annual Positive Points Race. The aim of the programme is to concentrate on positive behaviour and active participation in learning activities and to recognize and reward that in each second year class. Each class captain and vice-captain will be responsible for their folder and the distribution of forms for set classes and options.
Science Trip: Ms Devitt will be taking her Third Year Science Class to Dublin Zoo on Monday 8th February.
ICEP: The Institute of Child Education & Psychology provides support for schools & teachers through the delivery of various courses. Details from www.icep.eu
Chess Club: Best of luck to Ms Hayes & College Chess Team who travel to Bray on Monday 8th February to compete against St. Brendan’s Secondary School.
"Quake" Bake Sale! As part of a C. S. P. E. Action Project Activity, Rang Sheelin are organising a Bake Sale in the canteen on Wed. 10th Feb., from 12.15 to 12.30 to raise funds for victims of Haiti. The class are also organising a short fast for 1st yr from last meal on Tuesday evening to Break-time on Wednesday. Students who wish to take part are asked to donate €2 on Tuesday morning at Assembly after which they will receive a voucher for a free cake at Wednesday's Cake Sale.

Transition Year News>>More
Changeover of Transition Year Modules: The second block of Transition Year modules will officially end Friday, February 26th. However, this week will be the final week that the students will be involved in their current block of TY Modules as the students will be on work experience the week following the mid-term break. Our students will begin their third and final block of modules on Monday, March 1st.
Transition Year Survey: On Tuesday of this week, our TY students will be participating in a research survey focusing on adolescent attitudes. Rang Monnet will participate in the survey
Senior mentor programme: Last Saturday, a number of our LC1 Mentors volunteered to help with the assessments of our incoming Fist Year students of 2010. This is the third year that our Mentors have been involved in this process and yet again, our Mentors displayed great leadership and organisational skills proving themselves to be worth ambassadors for our college.

Mock Exams: Commence on 22nd February & conclude on 5th March. During the course of the exams the 2nd Year and 1st Year PTM will be held on 23rd February and 4th March respectively
“Eat-A-Thon”: T.Y. students will host an ‘Eat-A-Thon’ competition in the Canteen next Thursday 11th February. It will be sponsored by Kelloggs to raise funds for Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin. All first years will attend and will be asked to contribute €2 and all first year students will be entered into a raffle.
The Student Enrichment Programme is offering Second and Transition Years the opportunity to take courses with The Centre for Talented Youth in Dublin City University. >>More
